Care for Culture. Time passes, art stays.
Over the years, the Carlo Maria Martini Diocesan Museum of Milan, opened on 5th November 2001 by Cardinal Carlo Maria Martini, at the presence of the Italian President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, has become a reference point for the cultural and social life of the city of Milan.
The Diocesan Museum – which is based in the prestigious complex of the Cloisters of Sant’Eustorgio – is a cultural institution supported by the Diocese of Milan and aims at enhancing and telling the story of local faith through its art treasures. It accomplishes this task firstly by restoring and taking care of the artworks in the territory of the Diocese. However, the mission of the Diocesan Museum of Milan is also to make these treasures accessible to the city and its cultures, by letting people know, appreciate and enjoy them.
